THAILAND NIGHTLIFE

In urban areas , up market Thai bars have become all glass and steel , with illuminated table tops, designer glasses and huge windows with amazing views. Dance clubs are common in southern Thailand, with local and foreign DJs playing various styles of music . Note that smoking is banned in air-conditioned bars.

BARS AND CLUBS

Theme bars are increasingly popular , ranging from sports bars with large screens to British pubs with beer gardens, and there are also Wild West saloons and antique-filled bars full of red silk and cushions.

Many visitors find it more interesting to avoid the dance clubs and enjoy the beach bars which open up at night , after the sunbathers have given up for the day. Candles flutter in the dark of the evening : you can listen to the waves breaking on the shore or the beguiling rhythms of Buddhist music playing the background.

DRINKS

Beer in Thailand is taxed relatively heavy. Local bears include Singha or Chang that are the most popular local beers in Thailand. Wine in Thailand us mostly imported and relatively expensive  . The whisky is popular and inexpensive , and the 35 % proof Mekong whisky can be mixed to produce a pleasant drink.

NIGHT MARKETS

Talat yen is the name of the Thai market that open in most towns at around 6 pm and which are dedicated to open air , inexpensive eating. It's one of the least expensive ways to eat in Thailand and the atmosphere is entertainment in itself .
