Starting from Chiang Mai, you can take day trips to visit the ancient capital of the Lanna Kingdom or explore the surrounding nature and off-the-beaten-path experiences on eco tours. To visit the temples of Chiang Rai and the Golden Triangle, we recommend the classic tour with stops in Chiang Rai and then Chiang Mai. Given the enormous distance between Chiang Mai and the Golden Triangle, we only operate this tour from Chiang Rai. Finally, if the tour departs from Chiang Rai, Thailandweb will need to send a guide from Bangkok or Chiang Mai.
